| BVI Immigration and Entry Requirements
All visitors are welcomed in the British Virgin Islands. Persons coming to
the BVI for the purpose of visiting are required to satisfy the Immigration
Officer at the port of entry on the following: 1. Has valid travel
documents. 2. Does not intend to remain permanently in the territory. 3.
Will not engage in work or seek any employment. 4. Has enough funds to
support himself and any dependents without working for the duration of his
stay. 5. Has onward or return tickets.
Persons admitted as visitors
will not be allowed to change their status to work or reside, etc., unless they
leave the Territory and return with the necessary documents.
A person admitted as a spouse or other dependent in regards to a person who
is coming to work or start a business may not seek employment without first
applying to the Chief Immigration for a change of status.
A person coming
to the British Virgin Islands for temployment e is required to produce at the
port of entry:
a) A letter issued to the prospective employer by the Labour Department
approving his employment in the British Virgin Islands. This letter is presented
by the prospective employer who has to be at the port of entry when the
prospective employee arrives. b) Two copies of a Police Certificate of
charter from his country of birth in addition to country of residence prior to
arrival. more |
