The BVICCHA is very grateful of the BVI Bank Association for its generous contributions to Crime Stoppers BVI. Toady the BVI Bank Association President, Ms. Joycelyn Murraine handed over a check in the amount of USD10, 000 to the new President of Crime Stoppers BVI, Mr. Kevin Smith. The check highlights the BVI Bank Association member banks contribution to fighting crime in the BVI. The Association membership includes: Scotiabank (British Virgin Islands) Limited, First Bank Virgin Islands, Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, National Bank of the Virgin Islands, CIBC- First Caribbean International Bank, and VP Bank (BVI) Limited.


Crime Stoppers BVI was formerly launched on July 20th, 2010. At that time BVI formed part of 25 countries in the world and the 11th country in the Caribbean to be apart of Crime Stoppers International. Crime Stoppers BVI is a non profit organization and under the auspices of the BVI Chamber of Commerce and Hotel Association. Crime Stoppers BVI is managed by an independent charitable board of directors. Their sole mandate at time of launching was to raise the awareness of Crime Stoppers in the territory.
Since the start of Crime Stoppers International over 30 years ago, many calls have been received in Crime Stoppers communities around the world resulting in thousands of arrests and the recovery of substantial amounts of property and the seizure of illicit drugs. Calls have included information about murder, robbery, physical and sexual assault, drugs, vehicle theft, and firearm offences.


Anyone can call Crime Stoppers with any information and tips concerning crime and criminal activities -1-800-8477 (TIPS).


On occasion for tips resulting in arrests and
the recovery of property rewards will be available. All calls are answered in an independent overseas call center; all calls are untraceable, anonymous, confidential and free. Persons can also provide information and crime tips online anonymously and confidentially via crimestoppersbvi.com
