1. What is a Chamber?

A chamber of commerce is an association or network of businesspeople designed to promote and protect the interests of its members. A chamber of commerce is often made up of a group of business owners that share a locale or interests, but can also be international in scope. They will choose leadership, name representatives, and debate which policies to espouse and promote.

2. How Can I Become a Member?

On our homepage select the red 'JOIN TODAY' button or click the 'Membership' tab on the left side of the screen then click join.  Everyone is free to visit our office if you'd rather sign up in person or speak to our Chamber staff as well.

3. What are the Benefits?

As your local business advocacy unit the Chamber is the overarching entity that speaks on behalf of businesses for businesses. Members and different persons of the community may sometimes be afraid to speak out on certain issues affecting their business to stray away from victimization, discrimination, etc. Simply put, they do not want their thoughts to affect their business.

 

Aside from advocating we also provide business support, educational and networking opportunities. We hold lunch and learn's, workshops, and webinars for members and non-members. We also provided free quarterly and annual benefits to members such as free graphics, consultation sessions, e-blasts, website footer ads, social media posts, member directory listing, member-2-member discounts, ribbon cuttings etc.

 

We also offer a slew of other services for members and non-members at a small cost such as letter writing, logo creation, meeting hosting, etc.

4. How do I Pay My Membership?

Membership fees can be paid via cash, cheque, and online via our myevents portal.

5. Are You a Government Entity?

Chambers of Commerce's are Not-Profit Organizations that provide advocacy and business support services. In order to appropriately advocate on behalf of the business industry in regards to government policies, procedures, etc. that negatively affect members and the business sector the Chamber should be unbias and unaffiliated with any political party.

6. Are You Government Funded?

The Chamber raises revenue through membership dues, program income (events, webinars, etc.), donations, etc. Although most Chambers around the world are government-funded in regards to certain services they provide on behalf of their government the British Virgin Islands Chamber of Commerce and Hotel Association is not government-funded. We do receive sponsorships from government departments for different events that they are interested in.

7. Where Are You Located?

BVICCHA is located in the Tropic Aisle Building (same as UMI fashion) on Nibbs Street. We are directly across from Western Union!
